Warum unterstützt Railslove das RailsCamp Germany 2014 als Captain Sponsor?
Das Railscamp war in den letzten Jahren immer eine besonders schöne Veranstaltung: Super Leute, liebevoll organisiert, eine entspannte Atmosphäre und thematisch viel weiter gefasst als der Name es vermuten lässt. Als echt kölsches Unternehmen, das auch ein bisschen Rails im Namen trägt, sind wir da bei der Neuauflage des Camps in den Abenteuerhallen natürlich gern wieder mit dabei und freuen uns sehr auf das Wochenende im September!
Ihr seid 2010 und 2013 auch schon bei RailsCamps in Deutschland dabei gewesen – könnt Ihr Veränderungen feststellen, seht Ihr eine bestimmte Entwicklung, zum Beispiel von Interessen, von TeilnehmerInnen o.ä.?
Natürlich ist das Camp über die Jahre größer geworden und es finden zu unserer Freude auch immer mehr Leute dorthin, die nicht bereits professionell als Web-Entwickler unterwegs sind. Die Mischung macht’s dann spannend und so entstehen Diskussionen aus immer neuen Perspektiven um immer neue Themen.
Was war für Euch ein Höhepunkt, ein besonderer Moment beim letzten RailsCamp?
Das Camp in den Abenteuerhallen bot einiges an Höhepunkten: BMX-Action und Basketball-Matches zwischen den Sessions, Live-Podcasting im Hof, das lecker BBQ am Abend, da kommt man direkt wieder ins schwärmen… :)
Was wünscht Ihr Euch für das diesjährige RailsCamp, was erwartet Ihr?
Das schöne am Railscamp-Gedanken ist ja, dass man im Vorfeld nicht weiß, was man kriegt. Das Camp sind die Leute vor Ort. Aber, was kann da schon schiefgehen, wenn sich eine Reihe guter Leute dazu verabredet, sich in den Abenteuerhallen ein schönes Wochenende zu machen? Wird sicher ein Fest.
Und was macht Ihr sonst so, wenn Ihr nicht gerade Barcamps finanziell unter die Arme greift?
Wir entwickeln Produkte fürs Web und begleiten unsere Kunden dabei von der ersten Idee bis zum Launch und darüber hinaus.

Why does Railslove support RailsCamp Germany 2014 as Captain Sponsor?
In the last few years, RailsCamp has always been a particular nice event: Great people, organised with love, a relaxed atmosphere and topically covering far more than you would expect concerning the name. As one real „kölsch“ company that also bears a bit of Rails in its name we certainly like to be part of the new edition of the camp at Abenteuerhallen Kalk, and we are very much looking forward to that weekend in September!
In 2010 and 2013, you have already joined RailsCamp Germany - can you state changes, do you see a certain development, for example of interests, participants or the like?
Of course, the camp has grown bigger over the years, and to our pleasure, more and more people find their way to RailsCamp who do not yet work as professional web developers. It’s the mixture that keeps it exciting, and thus discussions arise from always changing perspective about new subjects.
What has been one highlight, one special moment for you during the last RailsCamp?
The camp at Abenteuerhallen offered some highlights: BMX action and basketball matches in between the sessions, live podcasting in the backyard, the delicious BBQ in the evening, you directly begin to slobber over that… :)
What wishes do you have for this years RailsCamp, what do you expect?
The nice thing about the RailsCamp idea is that you previously don’t know what you get. The Camp are the the people who join it. But what can go wrong if a bunch of good people arrange to meet each other and have a nice weekend at Abenteuerhallen? Sure, it’s going to be a celebration.
And what else are you doing when you are not supporting Barcamps?
We develop products for the web and accompany our customers from the first idea to the launch and beyond. With passion and love and Ruby on Rails.
